Bart Carrigan is an ERISA Specialist/Business Development Liaison at Union Services Agency. Having spent over 30 years serving as President of the Associated General Contractors of Michigan (AGC), Bart oversaw the associationʼs successful administration of several Taft-Hartley Fringe Benefit Funds. He is a firm believer that “good governance” is the key to ERISA compliance which requires trustees to administer the plan for the sole and exclusive benefit of the participants.
Bart and AGC member contractors were instrumental in educating Michiganʼs congressional delegation about the benefits of 2014 pension reform legislation. In addition, he currently serves as Co-Chairman of a statewide coalition called Michigan Prevails with Patrick “Shorty” Gleason.
Bart has a bachelor's degree from Colgate University and has completed masterʼs level work at the Graduate School of Syracuse University and the School of Labor and Industrial Relations of Michigan State University. He also serves on the board of directors for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP), frequently acted as a moderator at the IFEBP Annual Education Conference, and has presented on several panels which focus on the effective governance of multi-employer benefit plans.
